What is oiled leather? Oiled leather promises suppleness and durability. The leather is soaked in vegetable oil during tanning. The pores of the leather open and the oil penetrates deep under several layers. This creates a slightly memorized affect, which can be seen particularly well with brown leather. Oiled leather is much smoother, more durable and does not dry out as quickly.
