The Loose Ring Gag is a loose ring with two small rings for the gag cheeks. Itencourages the horse to keep its head up. The pressure points are on the topof the head, just behind the ears and the corners of the mouth. The cheekpiececan be used with one or two reins. This cheekpiece is most commonly usedwith two reins, one attached to the large ring and the other to the ring of thegag cheek. This way, the rider can better dose the gag effect. Please note: Thenormal bridle cheekpiece is replaced by the gag cheek.

The Elliptical mouthpiece is thefirst example of a double-jointedmouthpiece with an elliptical shapedlink. Due to this shape,the mouthpiece presses a bitmore on the middle of the tongue.This mouthpiece has two joints, isshaped more to the form of themouth and lies in the mouth a bitlooser. This bit puts morepressure on the tongue than asingle-jointed mouthpiece.
